The dispersion measure of Fast Radio Bursts host galaxies: estimation from cosmological simulations

چکیده
ABSTRACT The dispersion measure (DM) of fast radio burst (FRB) encodes important information such as its distance, properties intervening medium. Based on simulations in the Illustris and IllustrisTNG projects, we analyse DM FRBs contributed by interstellar medium circumgalactic hosts, DMhost. We explore two population models – tracing star formation rate (SFR) stellar mass, i.e. young old progenitors, respectively. distribution DMhost shows significant differences at z = 0 between populations: mass model exhibits an excess low-DM end with respect to SFR model. (stellar mass) has a median value 179 (63) pc cm−3 for galaxies $M_*=10^{8\!-\!13}\, \mathrm{M}_{\odot }$ TNG100-1. Galaxies Illustris-1 have much smaller distributions deviate from lognormal function both models. Furthermore, populations differ moderately spatial offset host galaxy’s centre hosts. increases hosts when $M_* < 10^{10.5}\, }$, fluctuate higher mass. At 2, redshift. declines increasing With more localized events available future, statistics DMhost, galaxy centre, will be great helpful ascertain origin FRB. Meanwhile, FRB could help constrain baryon physics evolution.

Host Galaxies of Gamma-Ray Bursts and their Cosmological Evolution
We use numerical simulations of large scale structure formation to explore the cosmological properties of Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) host galaxies. Among the different sub-populations found in the simulations, we identify the host galaxies as the most efficient star-forming objects, i.e. galaxies with high specific star formation rates. We find that the host candidates are low-mass, young galaxies w...
متن کاملThe impact of radio feedback from active galactic nuclei in cosmological simulations: Formation of disk galaxies
In this paper, we present a new implementation of feedback due to active galactic nuclei (AGN) in cosmological simulations of galaxy formation. We assume that a fraction of jet energy, which is generated by an AGN, is transferred to the surrounding gas as thermal energy. Combining a theoretical model of mass accretion onto black holes with a multiphase description of star-forming gas, we self-c...
متن کاملThe nature of compact groups of galaxies from cosmological simulations
The nature of compact groups (CGs) of galaxies, apparently so dense that the galaxies often overlap, is still a subject of debate: Are CGs roughly as dense in 3D as they appear in projection? Or are they caused by chance alignments of galaxies along the line-of-sight, within larger virialized groups or even longer filamentary structures? The nature of CGs is re-appraised using the redshift zero...
متن کاملThe Small-scale Velocity Dispersion of Galaxies: a Comparison of Cosmological Simulations
The velocity dispersion of galaxies on small scales (r D 1 h~1 Mpc), can be estimated from the p 12 (r), anisotropy of the galaxy-galaxy correlation function in redshift space (Davis & Peebles). We apply this technique to ““mock catalogs ÏÏ extracted from N-body simulations of several di†erent variants of cold dark matterÈdominated cosmological models, including models with cold] hot dark matte...
متن کاملEmpirical Constraints on Source Properties and Host Galaxies of Cosmological Gamma-ray Bursts
We discuss several constraints on the properties of -ray bursts (GRB) at cosmological distances. First we use the requirement that burst sources must be optically thin to a test photon for the process + ! e + + e in order to produce the observed nonthermal spectra. In particular, we derive probability distributions for the minimumLorentz expansion factor min , the radiation energy E , the maxim...
